FLAX EVO STANDS FOR EVOLUTION The Flax cone is the best example of FOCAL know-how. The membrane is light, stiff and optimally damped - essential elements for the "ideal" speaker driver. Manufactured in FOCAL's manufacturing facilities, high quality French flax is sandwiched between two thin layers of fiberglass for this membrane. The lightweight sandwich is characterized by a natural sound without coloration as well as a rich reproduction in the midrange and precise bass beats.
Flax Evo delivers further innovations such as the new TAM tweeter: derived from the state-of-the-art tweeter of the Utopia M series, the inverted dome with M-Profi le ensures a wider beam angle. The patented Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) surround is used on Allen loudspeaker components and helps to reduce unwanted resonances and enable a clean, neutral mid-range reproduction with very low distortion.
